In Of Mice And Men almost every character in the story is either physically or mentally handicapped . Most of them aren't obvious but they are definitely there. Lennie, the enormous, baby like man has the most obvious handicap. Even though it isn’t physical, it is still expressed in his everyday life. In the beginning of the story they described him as “ A huge man, shapeless of face, with large pale eyes, with wide, sloping shoulders; and he walked heavily, dragging his feet a little, the way a bear drags his paws.” This is due to his low IQ and his mental defects, which contributes to the general plot.
