Hello I am Leonidas the king of Sparta. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about my life. I will be telling you about my wife and family, my death, and the battle of thermopylae.

My wife is Gorgo, she is also my niece. In this time period to marry in the blood line it was not uncommon because marrying in the family makes your family a lot stronger. Her father is my half brother Cleomenes 1. I am a descendant of Hercules.

In the battle of thermopylae Me and 300 Spartans held the “Hot Gates” at Thermopylae for three days. We fought until a shepherd betrayed us, telling Xerxes army(The persians) a flank. Killing over 19,000 persians we all died. Which made our navy retreat to the battle of salamis, that we won in time.
