Many people in today's modern world are more drawn to fast food restaurants and when they go to a grocery store they are more likely to get the item than to look at what is in it and what it contains. all over the world this happens but there are few people that we locavores. these people only eat locally grown food. they are trying to get communities to convert to locally grown food but, what is the issue?the key issues with the locavore movement is the quality of the food and the investment it takes the supply to its destination.

Most Americans do not realize how much nutrition is lost from the time it is picked to the time it is sent off to the stores. which in returns lose its quality. the produce you get from the supermarket has been cold stored for days maybe even weeks but, produce you get from your local farmer market has been picked within 24 hours. the freshness affects the nutritional value which declines over time. when you go into a store you do not want have to look around every where to find whats’ fresh and what’s not. “It’s not just vitamins and minerals,but all these phytochemicals and really powerful disease-fighting substances, and we do know that when a food never really reaches its peak ripeness, the levels of these substances never get as high,” ...[Cynthia].not only is eating health a problem but so is the quality of freshness the produce is.

some produce dose not even meet the requirement or go through processing right. many people do not even realize what kind of chemicals are in the food that we eat.I myself do not like to trust the factories or big government business because, their not in it for you to be healthy or what you eat. their in it for the money, so sometimes there let things slide and in return you get produce that is not even right. with farmer markets they are local people you talk to everyday. they never try to sell you anything that is not
