William Shakespeare was a famous English poet. William Shakespeare is regarded as the “Bard of Avon”. Born April 1564, died April 23, 1616. Shakespeare is arguably the greatest English writer ever. Shakespeare is the best selling fiction author of all time. Macbeth is a famous tragedy written by William Shakespeare. It is said to be first performed in the year 1606. It portrays the uprising of Macbeth a Scottish general who get a prophecy from 3 witches that he will be King of Scotland one day. This play has audiences on the edge of their seats. Macbeth- Macbeth is portrayed as strong and brave in the tragedy but towards the end he changes to power hungry and greedy. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth go through with the plot to kill Duncan. Macbeth is starting to go crazy over what he's about to do. Macbeth kills the king and he and Lady Macbeth are ridden with guilt from doing it.
Commentary: Banquo asks Macbeth if he's thinking about the witches and he lies to his best friend. Macbeth kills the King, gets away with it. Act 3- Macbeth hired to murderers to kill Banquo and Fleance, Macbeth is worried that Banquo's sons will overthrow him later and life. The murderers kill Banquo at a wooded area and as he is dying he tells Fleance to run. Macbeth's decides that is what he had to. Says he doesn't need to be worried about Fleance till later.
Commentary: at this point in the story Macbeth's sanity is gone. He killed his best friend for a title. Macbeth will probably go mad. Act 4- Macbeth goes to see the witches to find out the meaning to his prophecies. They tell him the three things. Macbeth figures out that Macduff has fled. Macbeth kill Macduff's family. Macduff joins Malcolm. Macduff vows revenge on Macbeth. Macbeth is even more confident because the witches tell him that no man born of a woman could harm him.
