Malcolm X had a very hard life due to his childhood. When he was six his father died from a car running over him. He went to jail at the age nineteen for drug dealing. He was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in jail. After all of the difficult challenges he faced he said, “I had never been so truly free in my life.”
When Malcolm spent his time in jail he did not know how to read and write. Therefore, he tried his hardest to learn. Everyday, he copied pages down of a dictionary. He wrote it over and over and over again. He never gave up and used the most stressful way to learn how to read and write, in my opinion.
