Without metabolism life would be unable to survive or yet even exist. It is the chemical reaction in the body that helps anything that is living survive. This is mostly seen when the food that has been consumed is turned into energy that is need for the daily activities. Metabolism is carried out enzymes, if the enzymes are more productive or working faster than metabolism will be high but if they are slow them metabolism will be low, which is not good because if the enzymes stop the whole body will shut down and die.
