In society, misfits, or anyone who doesn’t fit in, are often seem as peculiar and abnormal due to their unusual behavior. Tim Burton often demonstrates, in films such as Edward Scissorhands, both misfit protagonists and judgmental characters. These style devices are directly related oftentimes by which the antagonist is condemning of the misfit protagonist as a result of their uncommon characteristics. From this, we can take from Burtons work that society wrongly judges those who do not fit in with the common standards by which they define as normal.
