Twins play an important role in behavioral studies because monozygotic twins have identical genes, therefore when studied in different environments, the effects of environment and genetics on IQ can be clearly studied. Studies show that monozygotic twins had more relatable IQ scores than dizygotic twins, disregarding environmental factors. With this in mind, other studies show that genetics are irrelevant in other cases that do not include twins. Subjects in poverty who have less access to education and academic success show that environment plays the largest role in differing IQs.
