1. Because their peers are not considered old enough by laws to make such determination of guilt. Just as they are not considered mature enough to drink or vote. 2. Juveniles do not have the right to jury by peers because that would entail a jury of juvenile offenders. It would also violate privacy rights that are given to juvenile offenders. 3. Because a juvenile and his peers are not of legal age to vote and serve on a jury or any other right granted an adult.
A. The reason I choose this answer is because it fit right into what we are talking about. I go to the juvenile once a month and this also me to understand the system a little more than I already do.
II the juvenile justice system was founded on the concept of rehabilitation through individualized justice.
The juvenile justice system and the adult jqents.ustice system share their commonalities and defenses. The juvenile justice system makes it the point to rehabilitate instead of punishing delinquents.
However one must take into consideration that punishing is still feasible concept width in the juvenile system but it used prudently as a last resort.
For those adults and juveniles that admit guilt there is system of procedural safe guards to protect their rights. Additionally other communalities between the age separated groups include bargain, as well as the right to hearing and appeals. While juveniles are tried in the juvenile court, juvenile proceedings are not viewed as criminal, and that juvenile records, court hearing, are confidential and not normally accessible, adult records are public. The juveniles are not in the same area as the adults, they have their own place called juvenile detention center. The wear different uniforms. Here in Memphis the youth wear an orange jump suite and orange gym shoes.
B. The reason I believe the way I do is because of my upbringing. I have firsthand experience on how youth get treated I was not a bad child, but I have had my run in with the law before. Not all juveniles get a chance to go back home like I did when in my younger day’s I got caught shoplifting. I can understand why some the youth do what they do
