For a long time scholars have debated over how the Bible was written, or more so, who wrote the Bible. While some insist that God spoke to the writers, and declared what they should write word for word, others insisted that the writer’s minds were simply enlightened by God to think and articulate on a higher level. These two views on inspiration have been proven wrong by both Scripture and simple reasoning, thus leaving Christians with one main view of Scripture. This is perspective is known as Organic Inspiration, which states that the Holy Spirit dwells in the writers. These authors wrote with their own artistic style, yet their writings were still very much inspired by the Holy Spirit. Organic Inspiration greatly advocates the effect of the Holy Spirit on the writers and states that the Holy Spirit lives in the writers and while the writers wrote with their own style, the Holy Spirit also inspired their writings. This perspective thus proves how it is possible for the Bible to be completely inspired, yet also greatly influenced by the authors of each book. Some Christians agree that neither extreme (Mechanical or Dynamic) is good, yet they only believe in a partial inspiration of Scripture. This view simply is known as Partial Inspiration. Partial Inspiration asserts that the thoughts of the writers were inspired, but the actual words were left to the writer’s discretion. Followers of this “belief” claim that doctrinal issues were insured to be correct because those were inspired by the Holy Spirit, but any other “flaws/historical mistakes” were the writer’s fault.
