The majority of the water in the Africans countries are polluted and are causing many problems for the people in Africa, which is very heartbreaking to hear that people are dieing because of the water. When there is a polluted lake or river there is going to be a problem and sadly people will suffer from the effects. In Passage A waste is being dumped in the water pretty often which is causing bacteria and disease to harm the people. All of the diseases are making everyone sick including the children who live in the villages and all of the sickness is causing the children to miss out on their learning in school. In results of all that the people who live in those villages have to walk many miles to dig holes in the sands from dry riverbanks to get water from under large rock formations and it takes a lot of time and energy to walk many miles to dig those holes. To add to that kids ,who are the ones to dig the holes, have to miss out on school and they not only miss out on school, they miss out on their dreams to become a person who they always want to be. …show more content…
Etana is one of those children who have get water for her family and it too is getting in the way of her learning in school. Many of her friends have died from the polluted water and getting water is not easy because it's hard to tell if the water is fresh or not.
