Personal Narrative: How College To Go To College

Deciding on what college to go to was a very difficult decision for me. I originally was planning on going to Mount San Antonio College in California. Later on my parents and I talked about where I should be going to college, they wanted me to be close, however I still had my heart set on Mount San Antonio College. As the date got closer I decided that I wanted to go to school at St. Cloud State because I wanted to be close to my family. We went to advising day at St. Cloud State and it was difficult to pick what classes I wanted to be a part of. I could not decide on a major, so I decided to take my generals this year and see where it takes me. The next step was to determine where I was going to be staying. I came to a compromise and choose to live in the Coborns Plaza Apartments. The day finally came when I had to move into the Coborns Plaza and say farewell to my family. I am very happy with all the decisions that I have made for myself. I would’ve not hanged a thing if I ever had to make them again. I remember exactly how I felt mentally and emotionally. I was afraid to be living on my own because that is a huge responsibility and I was not sure if I was ready for it yet. I have grown so much as a student here at SCSU. I have learned how to take care of myself and do things on my own. I have also learned how to be independent. I have learned a lot about who I am and the person that I have become. The first semester was a wild roller coaster ride for me, a lot of self discovery has come out of it. I was surprised at how fast the semester went by considering the fact that the days seemed to go by extremely slow. In the beginning I made a promise to myself saying that I would not give up on using my planner to help me keep track of things and I kept with that promise.
