We can all agree music changes drastically over the years. I know in my 24 years of life I have seen quite a few changes. Music has always been a big part of my life. Whether it was just listening to it for fun, to get over a break up, or to dance to. When I was a teenager I listened to quite a bit of different types of songs. Some you could say are quite questionable and even a little embarrassing to admit to. The road my life took has changed the type of music I listen to. I went from listening to harmful, degrading music to uplifting, encouraging christian music. I grew up being very sheltered as a kid, so my teenage years were crazy. Like many of experience, I went through a stage of wanting to explore everything I wasn't supposed to be doing. At the time, I did not notice that the music I was listening to about sex, alcohol, drugs, violence, etc was affecting me in any way. It did though, I started drinking and was always angry with my mom and lost my virginity at the age of 16. Now, I'm not saying music made those decisions for me but subconsciously it did influence my thoughts. I never realized how much the words in these songs were feeding my brain that it was alright to do these
