Personal Narrative: How Reading Changed My Life

Reading takes you anywhere. Anywhere could be your favorite place as a kid, in your mother's arms, even your old school. Or it could be a place where your life changed forever, like in a battlefield. So many people yelling your name, “Help me!” they cried, you couldn’t do one thing. You were stuck, you can’t do anything do anything, you’re paralyzed in fear. You try to move so you can help them, yet you can’t, you’re just standing there watching them all perish. You think “How can I save the people I love?” but then something happens. You feel a sharp pain in your left leg, you look down to see blood oozing down. You look up, hear another gunshot, then see your mother fall to the ground blood everywhere. You try to escape the rope that's holding you back from your family, holding you back from home, holding you back from your life. You start to get worked up, and oh your anxiety is getting bad. You finally untie the rope, but then you start to hear footsteps coming towards you. You try to run, but where to run? Your trapped in a box, and in your mind. You scramble, “Look,” you think to yourself “There's an opening on the roof” you climb the chair that you were tied to. As you escape from the vault, you see you home. It’s all gone. Everything burn homes, stores, even people. Gone, everything and everyone is gone. Just you. You walk over to the cliff and cry, you cry until you physically can't cry any
