On Tuesday, November 10th, I will be observing my first surgery. I am eager to attend. While observing, I will be able to see if I am capable of handling viewing a surgery. In the past, I have watched surgeries through videos in my anatomy and physiology classes. As of now, I do not know how I will feel in the surgical environment. The person who is opened up in front of me, the sounds, and the different smells are not things that I am not familiar with. In January, I dissected human cadavers but I think this experience will be quite different. The person that I will be observing will still alive but under anesthesia unlike what I worked on earlier in the year during a study abroad at Gunther von Hagens’ Body Worlds Plastinarium. Along with
