Writing Portfolio Introduction Through the course of my high school career, I have produced many pieces of notable writing works. I am proud of the majority of my writing. I intend, through my writing portfolio, to showcase the breadth and quality of my writing ability using six selections of writing from junior to senior year. In my writing portfolio you will read one personal narrative, one piece of creative writing, one technical lab report, one research analysis bibliography, and two literary analysis essays.

That’s the reason why I included so many different types of writing: it hides my lack of writing style. I know, however, that as I continue to practice writing, I will be able to hone my skills down to more specific subjects. Only then will I begin to develop a writing style. I have this opportunity to look forward to when I study at Brigham Young University. At Brigham Young University, when I study the career path of animation, my writing will consist of project pitches, technical reports, and perhaps even storytelling. Dear Incoming High-Schoolers
This is a mock news-editorial in which I share and analyze the effects of my choices in highschool, and use my experiences as evidence to share advice with lower classmen. It contains some private experiences, so it was difficult to write, but I believe that these examples further my arguments.
Mock Trial Opening Statement
The case of Tracy Rose v. State of California describes Tracy Rose, a college student put on trial for the charge of vehicle theft. As lead defense litigator, it was my job to prepare and deliver an opening statement in a mock court. I also laid out the procedures I would take in court and arguments I would bring up. This is a written transcript of my opening statement.
The Tragic Heroes of Everest
Can themes that are used most commonly in fiction be identified in non fiction characters? In this analytical essay, I argue that they can. By identifying the trait of hubris in many of the mountain climbers present during the 1996 Everest Disaster, I analyze the reasons as to why things went wrong and how such events could be prevented in the future.
