Personal Narrative: Team Sport

I was up to bat, one out, we were down 2 to 3, base runners on second and third, this was the perfect opportunity to drive in two runs to put us in the lead. I stepped up to the plate just hoping to get a base hit. We were down 1 run and needed just one run to tie up this game, but an extra base hit would put us in the lead. I take the first pitch a bit outside for a ball, and at that moment I knew that I was locked in and was going to come through.
Our team the Rockies had been on fire the past few games, and had been rolling over all of the other teams in our division, but we had finally met our match the Phillies, who had also been rolling up all of the other teams. I take the first pitch outside for a ball, and at that moment I know that i am locked in. I look over at my dad who is the coach of our team, and he gives me a insuring “let's go right here bud!”, I nod to show him that I was listening. The next pitch is down the middle, and I take a huge swing and miss. I step out of the box mad at myself and look down at my dad, and he gives me a oh well shake it off you will get the next one look. I take a swing outside of the batter’s box to loosen my arm and back muscles, and step back into the box. The next pitch is about a foot high for a ball, and I almost swing, but pull back at the last second. I turn towards my dad and smile, and he smiles back, because we both know that if he gives me a good pitch I am going to rip it. I step out of the box and take a deep breath, and look over at the dugout. Everyone is up on the fence ready for something to happen, I can't let them down. Then I look over to the stands, and see that all of the fans are shaking with anticipation, I really do not want to let them
