Police Body Cameras can help with making sure no one is telling a lie. With the cameras you will be able to make sure that no one is lying. Cops get away with telling stories, and making up things that never happened. Mark Morales writer for the Wall Street Journal and author of “Video Helps Track Police Misconduct; Grievances Decline”, talks about the case of Eric Garner (Morales). Eric Garner was killed by police officers when they put him in a chokehold for breaking up a fight. The death of Eric Garner was ruled a homicide but luckily there was footage of what occurred that day or that might not even have happened. Also, the significance to police cameras are that if people know they are being monitored they will want to behave better. In other words Writer believes that every cop should be wearing a camera because then no one would need to be watched knowing things are going ok. This goes to show how police can get away with killing and lying on innocent people. Another significance of the body cameras is that there may be a policy where the cops won’t get to view the footage. This is so they won’t be able to lie, and go on something off of the tape.
