An employee has the right to politically protest peacefully while at workplace. The First Amendment allows for Americans to exercise and express their opinions. However, if the protester puts the public in danger, there should be an action taken against them. For instance, Colin Kaepernick’s refusal to stand up for the national anthem created a lot of controversy that led to many debates and arguments. Additionally, Kaepernick’s decision to wear socks depicting police officers as pigs provoked the Santa Clara police union to boycott their jobs, putting people in danger. One might argue that Kaepernick is simply going against “police brutality and racial injustice.” However, his actions do not justify his reasoning as he is creating more disagreements
