How is it that one can turn into the very thing he has hated? It is in our human nature to be corrupted by power and greed. In the story Animal farm the animal drive off the humans that controlled them. Soon after they drive them off a new dangerous leaders appears. The animals hated the humans for treating them so poorly are so quick to do the same to their own. Watch as the animals are corrupted by the power the humans left behind. The animals are showing human characteristics by wanting to overthrow their competition and leaders for their own will being. “Only get rid of Man, and the produce of our labour would be our own. Almost overnight we could become rich and free. What then must we do? Why, work night and day, body and soul, for the overthrow of the human race!” This is only the beginning of the animals showing human characteristics. After Mr.Jones left Napoleon stepped up and had all the power Mr.Jones had and was corrupted by it. “They were the puppies whom Napoleon had taken away from their mothers and reared privately. Though not yet full-grown, they were huge dogs, and as fierce-looking as wolves. They kept close to Napoleon. It was noticed that they wagged their tails to him in the same way as the other dogs had been used to do to Mr. Jones. As you see the power corrupt Napoleon just like it did Mr.Jones. As they said in the beginning of the book the humans produce no food for themselves but eat better than the others.
