Despite the historic differences between current-day presidents such as Barack Obama and past presidents such as Thomas Jefferson, the existence of unity between them can be seen through a single trait: representation of the American people as a coherent nation. The citizens’ decision of voting is based upon particular characteristics represented by each candidate they select. Different presidents have each had their own way of running the country and have showered the victories of their presidency over the citizens of the United States throughout the years. The nationalism of the candidates has become a deciding factor to being inaugurated into the presidency.
