Safety precautions are one of the most important parts that come with owning a gun. Gun control has been an issue in the United States for decades. The Second Amendment states people have the right to keep and bear arms. Storing a gun can be easy, since there are various options. Making it simple to quickly retrieve weapons. Studies have shown that not storing a gun can be harmful, causing a risk of gun theft (“Gun.” 2-4). Gun theft is just one of the ways that dangerous people get their hands on violent weapons for violent reasons. In addition to background and training, the amount of gun violence is increasing in America, and people are misusing firearms. Throughout the year, data shows an increase in the number of violence and gun mishaps. Most companies are working on finding the best way to go about their main causes. Training and background checks should be more prominent when purchasing a gun. Having a firearm in the household for safety is normal in America. Additionally, it comes with risks. One main rule of thumb is never to have the weapon laid out or loaded anywhere. Many may seem obvious, but how to care for and store a gun often comes into play (“Gun.” 2-3). Rome states shocking evidence showing how many Americans are harmed by firearms. Ten years ago, data was collected that said 33,636 Americans' cause of death was gun violence. Sadly enough, varying ethnicities get treated differently, firearm homicide is the leading cause of death for 15-34 African American Males. The large number skyrocketed in 2020 but has lessened now (Rome 1). The only logical reason to shoot someone is if danger is certain. Of course, being in danger with firearms is never on purpose, but preparing for this event is always good to know. Just as fast as getting access to a gun can be, someone can get theirs. The best thing to do is stay calm and create a plan. To prevent never having to be in this situation, go to safe places. Have trustworthy friends and family around, said Ian Thompson (1-2).
