The Enlightenment in Europe resulted in unfathomable benefits for all of its population, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, or social standing. These ideas from the Enlightenment, of presenting new and revolutionary ideas to support the citizens, in Europe continue today. However, here in the United States of America, we have lost our original enlightenment related heritage. Evidence of this is most prevalent in the category of human rights and citizen services, which is what this essay will look at, yet we can also see evidence of this in other areas, such as the Federal budget, taxes, the government, and policies. One would expect that after this extraordinary similarity, these two continents would continue at similar trajectories, bringing up more revolutionary ideas that would aid their citizens as the Enlightenment did.
