Night , by Elie Wiesel is a sad and strong story of a young boy named Eliezer and how his life turns into a nightmare during the holocaust. German soldiers took him and his family and soon they were on their journey to the concentration camps. Eliezer had to face death over and over again and the people around him turning inhuman. He had to live through the unimaginable struggles and almost gave up hope. Even though he survived, The experiences he had changed who he was. I am writing about this this book because what people lived through during that time shouldn’t be forgotten. I went on a trip during the summer to Europe and I visited the Berlin Wall. Don’t you recognize me...You’re killing your father...I have bread…” (101). This section showed an example how families broke apart, trying to survive individually. This shows how tough situations were and what were results of those situations. This quote further proves that these people became no longer humans but beasts. Throughout reading I would come across words I did not understand. One word that I circled because I didn’t know the definition of is grimace. I would also like to talk about somethings that I squiggly lined which I thought was important to the mood and how people were feeling. The line was on page 100 when the author wrote,”The days resembled the night, and the nights left in our souls the dreg of their darkness.” This quote shows how the mood was sad, unlively, and without any hope. This is something that I squiggly lined because it is something that sets up the mood and is something that is deeper than things in this section.Those are some things I annotated which were really helpful to understand the section of the book I choose even
