Samuel Adams was one of the most important founding fathers of America. He came from a family of politicians and brewmasters which helped to shape him into the man he was. Adams accomplished many things in life which led him to leave a legacy for everyone to remember him by.
He was born in Boston, Massachusetts Bay Colony on September 16, 1722 to his parents Samuel Sr. and Mary Adams. Since Sam Adams father was a brewer he was raised to follow that path, but he fortunately failed at it and went to Harvard, he graduated in 1740 at just 18 studying law. Samuel Adams was so passionate about American Independence that he is also known for publicly defending the thesis “Whether It be Lawful to Resist the Supreme Magistrate, if the Commonwealth cannot be Otherwise Preserved,”.
Adams gained experience with small Boston affairs which laid the groundwork for his upcoming fame in 1765 during the resistance of the Stamp act in Massachusetts. As an upcoming politician, Samuel Adams strongly opposed any british taxation. In Sam Adams efforts to oppose the Stamp Acts he founded the Sons of Liberty as well as led with like minded patriots, they were the ones to develope the famous saying “no taxation without representation”. The Sons of Liberty later planned many events that would go down in the history books.

The day he died America lost one of it’s greatest founding fathers who led them toward greatness and independence. It is well known that his greatest achievement was establishing Bostons Committee of Correspondence because it set everything else into motion. Adams leading the Sons of Liberty was also something he will always be associated with because they helped the colonists gain their independence from Britain. Overall, Samuel Adams seemed like a great man who tried his hardest to do the best for his colony and fellow
