Case 1: SAP Leadership plan for Autism at Work by 2020
Business Problem: SAP has a current goal of having 1% of workforce composed of Autistic workers by 2020. Currently, SAP is collaborating with Specialsterne a Dutch based company who trains Autistic individuals to work in the IT field. SAP program Autism at Work currently employs workers in their India, and Ireland regional office.

Proposed Leadership Plan: Expand Autistic workforce by 2020 to 2% with employees from United States. Train Autistic person to hold management position. Under operating principle of Run Simple, use data gathered from SAP program to influence Autism public perception.

Recommend SAP partner with non Pareil Institute, a training center based in Texas to recruit

Proposed Leadership Plan: Workshops for managers could be organized to make them aware of importance of their behavior. The workshops could be divided into 3 parts:
I. Theories of motivation: In striving to fulfill the higher needs it should not be forgotten that basic needs are the base and health mind and body are crucial.
II. Recognition and appreciation: Workers should not only be recognized only for their job results but also for their attitude and input in creating culture.
III. Maxwell’s 5 levels of leadership : Managers should be aware how a great power in being a role model have level 5 leaders and they should be familiar with the theory to follow their way to level 5 leadership.
Prepare a research before and after the program (to see the long term effects the research should be conducted every year or two) to check if employees health improved. Time spent on physical and other health-improving activities should also be taken in

Some of them are lack of leadership, lack of work/life balance, lack of team work, lack of performance appraisal, lack of appreciation for one’s contribution, lack of intellectual and professional opportunities etc. In this scenario considering the position these employees are in SAP, we ruled out some of these reasons. Most employees aspire to express their intellectual pursuits and professional talents and see their career flourish. When companies fail to tap into this source, individuals are left frustrated and are at higher risk of leaving and getting their needs met elsewhere. We consider this as one of the main reasons why employees at high level left SAP recently. We would like to incorporate some of the key points mentioned in our text book “A leader’s legacy” along with our ideas in this leadership plan:
• Everybody should share a common vision. It might be on the technology forefront or product innovation. The entire team should have the common vision and should strive towards it. So the communication/development/implementation platform at higher level should be refined to provide better analysis of company’s objective and the opinion or feedback of every department leads related to the project.
• The project at higher level should be decentralized by making every one at the top as an integration lead at same capacity. This is turn will not create any differences among the leaders working
