In the story Scarlet Ibis written by James Hurst, Doodle the youngest son has a heart condition that makes it difficult for him to do most of the task that most people do not have a problem with. Considering Doodles problems his older brother tries to help him in many ways. For example, Doodles brother helps him learn how to walk, swim, climb and face some of his fears. Before something tragic happens to Doodle while they were running home before the storm was too bad. While running home Doodle fell causing him to hit his head and make him bleed but his brother did not stop for him when he first fell, he just kept on running after a while Doodles brother stopped and waited to see if he was coming. A few moments later he ran back to where Doodle had fell and saw him huddled up under a red bush. One way that the stories are different is that The Sniper is about the war and what it is like to be in the war. The Sniper also shows us that you have to do things that you do not want to do to save others from getting killed. Where on the other hand Scarlet Ibis is about a boy who finds out that he cannot do all the normal things he wanted to do with his brother, until one day he decide that he wanted to teach his younger brother what it was like to do all the things that he did when he was Doodles age.
