'The Scarlet Ibis' by James Hurst story about a child born with a serious medical condition who tries overcomes some of his challenges. In the end, however, his older brother abandons him and he ends up dying. There are two main characters in this story: the narrator (the older brother) and the little brother Doodle. These two brothers are quite fascinating as they are very different from each other but at the same time share some similarities.
As mentioned before, Doodle was born physically impaired. No one thought he would survive except his Aunt Nicey who had delivered him. Although being physically disabled, doodle wanted to get better. He was determined not to be different than the other children at school.
