Over 4,000 lives have been taken from parents, siblings, friends, classmates, teammates and more due to school shootings in America. Gun laws in our country need to be regulated in order to protect students. In the last 20 years, there has been a large increase in the number of school shootings. The effects of school shootings include long-lasting mental health effects and injuries and deaths. Not only that, but many people want to keep guns because of their constitutional rights.

Gun ownership has never led to anything that is beneficial to society and often leads to innocent lives being taken, not just in schools. More than 600 people die from firearms in America each day. The impacts of Gun Violence are impacts on Human Rights. Marginalized groups are most seriously impacted by gun violence, especially women, men, and boys from underprivileged backgrounds, and people of color. People may become afraid and intimidated by the presence of firearms, which may hinder their ability to get healthcare or education. The majority of gun violence happens outside of situations involving armed conflict, with suicide and accidents playing a big role. Devastating injuries from gun violence have a long-lasting effect on both physical and emotional health. There are more than one billion firearms in use worldwide, of which 85% are owned by ordinary citizens, 13% are kept in military caches, and 2% are used by police enforcement. Gun violence may prevent the establishment of community health services by NGOs and local authorities, and also negatively impact worker memory. The psychological effects of widespread gun violence are severe, especially for victims, their loved ones, and bystanders. Mass shootings and other acts of firearm violence can interfere with children's schooling, which can have a negative impact on the employment and income prospects of graduates.
