Do you carry a weapon for self protection? Do you think teachers should be able to protect the students better? Teachers are trained to take the students in the room to a hiding spot and try not to be found by an intruder trying to do harm. In 2012 one person killed 26 people in a school. These are my reasons why school personnel should be able to carry a firearm on them to protect themselves and the students in the school build form intruders that are trying to do harm to others.
To protect the people and students in the building from others trying to do do harm. School personnel should be able to carry a firearm on their self or in the classroom. After Virginia Tech colleges up their security. Colleges have campus police some are armed and some are not. At least with some police armed the school has a better chance of taking the threat down quickly. The Sandy Hook shooting one …show more content…
Before letting a person carry a firearm the ones carrying need to be trained because their are dangerous if not handle right. A gun is a very usable and reliable resource in the right hands. But if the person carrying it does not know how to use it or fire it accurately it is just a paper weight. NYPD only hit 18 percent of their targets in gunfights. The person operating the firearm should be efficient and capable to make the shot and know where and when to use the gun. Real gunfighters and killing people is not like the video game Call of Duty.
These are my reasons why school personnel should be able to carry a firearm on them to protect themselves and the students in the school build form intruders that are trying to do harm to others. To protect the people and students in the build from others. The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. A gun is only as good as the users training. School shooting are sad and tragic but if school personnel carry a firearm we can cut down on the number of deaths in school
