In “A Good Man Is Hard To Find” the coincidence is how the grandmother has to die from her selfishness at the selfishness of another. Grandmother was only concerned about herself from the beginning. To no surprise would there be a lesson to learn. Even after her wishes getting met, that doesn’t stop her from getting her way once more. Not before long however, her selfishness becomes selfishness at the hands of the wrong guy and the whole family has to pay for it now. This is where selfish meets more selfish.

It was clear to understand every detail of the story. From the beginning the grandmother was being selfish. She was so obsessed with herself that she didn’t care who disagreed with her. Grandma played very clever in order to win everyone over on her side against dad. Maneuvering seemed effortless to her and she would have done whatever it took to go on that vacation. They didn’t care at all. The rest of the family got murdered as well. Grandma, was last to go. She attempted to win The Misfit over once more. This didn’t work. The Misfit did away with her as well and she had to get placed away in the same place as everyone else. The Misfit might not wanted to do it to a lady as she said, but the message was obviously clear, “A Good Man is Hard To Find”. No one could be trusted after seeing him. Selfishness can get you and everyone around you hurt.

I see that most, if not all, of this situation could have been avoided. But it is very apparent that everything happened the way it did due to her selfishness. Had she at least left it alone when everyone agreed to take the vacation, no one would have gotten killed. No one else meant anything to her and she learned her lesson through his selfishness. Except she got everyone else killed with her,
