In the year of 632 CE, the Muslim religion faced a splitting due to the after death of Muhammad’s, meaning there could not be an agreement upon who should take his place as his rightful successor. One side of the argument, now knows as the Sunni’s, believed that his successor should be a member from Muhammad’s original Quraysn Tribe, while the other side, of the argument, now known as the Shia’s, thought that the rightful successor needed to be a blood relative, thus began the splitting into the Sunni Islam and the Shia Islam. Shia got their name from Shi’at Ali, meaning party of Ali. This is because Shia Islam believed that Ali, cousin of Muhammad should be the rightful successor to Muhammad’s legacy. Finally, the last pillar the Sunnis follow is Hajj, which is the requirement that all able healthy bodies must make a journey to Mecca at least once in their lifetime. The Shias on the other hand also had core principals in which were considered the most important aspect of their cultural as well. The first was Tawhid, the understanding and agreement that nothing is equal to Allah, or his uniqueness, the second was Adl, which was the concept of the divine justice Allah bestowed upon Muslims. The third, Nubuwwah, which states Allah’s divinity appoints messengers and prophets. The Fourth is Imamate, which discusses how Imams are chosen, and finally the last, Mi’ad, which is the belief that all humanity will join together at the end of the world, to be judge before Allah. Aside from the Shias core principals, they also have pillars like the Sunnis expect the Shias refer to it as the Ancillaries of the Faith, which covers some of the same points as the Sunnis five Pillars, but also has some other points of their
