The ultimate decider in the presidential election is the electoral college. The electoral college was founded by the founding fathers. The electoral college was created to balance the power each has in deciding who becomes president. The electoral college should not be changed because it gives every state a say in deciding who will be the next president and it has worked well so far. The electoral college should not be changed because it give states equal representation based on population in the election, it is in the constitution, and when you vote you actually vote for an elector who votes for a presidential candidate.
The electoral college is a system that balances the power each state has in electing the next president. The electoral college makes it so that the smaller populated states electoral votes count more in the election than if we used the popular vote to elect the president(doc4). If we did not have the electoral college the states with the larger populations would have all the control in deciding who would win the election.
