Some people believe professional athletes should get a salary cap before the season starts, so they don’t get paid a different amount for each pitch they throw, or homerun they hit. However what they are not thinking about is how much money the athletes are bringing in for their franchise. My personal opinion on athletes pay is they get paid for something they are very good at they bring lots of money in, but they need a salary cap so everyone gets paid around the same amount. “Most athletes are getting paid ridiculous amounts for short term contracts.” Athletes are getting paid millions even billions for the little things that help win games, whether it is a good game nor a bad game they are still entertaining the crowd, and making big money. …show more content…
For example these athletes are running up and down courts, running the bases, running fields, shooting basketballs into baskets, hitting a ball this is all for pure entertainment. However the people who complain about athletes pay do not understand what these people put their bodies through to entertain the crowd. Most athletes only have to work until their 30s or 40s and they are perfectly fine money wise, and they will be set the rest of their lives. The reason people think this isn’t a real job is because it is entertainment these players are doing the sport they love, and entertaining people. Athletes are taking money away from everyone. Some of these athletes don’t even have to have a collage education. . “Some people might say that athletes need to be paid as much as they are because of their high risk injuries.” My personal thoughts are that I agree they are very rough on their bodies, but that shouldn’t make their wages rise I think the team they play for should just pay for their insurance. It is their body they know what they are capable of for just being entertainment. Don’t get me wrong they bring in a lot of money, but they should because of how many fans come to be entertained.
