When thinking about an issue that currently affects our society, the first issue that comes to mind is mandatory vaccines. One side of this argument is that vaccines not only protect the individual being vaccinated, but also has a larger impact on protecting the rest of society. On the contrasting side of this argument, one may not want to the government to get involved in personal medical choices and want the freedom of autonomy to choose for them. Protection is the sole reason why we get vaccinated. Not only are we protecting ourselves from a possible contagious disease, but also we are providing protection to the people who surround us. Parents should be the ones to decide if their children are vaccinated or not. Vaccines are an unnatural way to initiate immunity. Naturally forming immunity will better protect our children from harmful diseases. Vaccines contain chemicals that our bodies may never even seen, so why introduce these chemicals in the first place. Because vaccines have eradicated certain disease why should we continue vaccinating against them? All in all, we should encourage our children’s immune systems to get stronger independently instead of artificially strengthen their immune systems through these chemical ridden vaccines. In my opinion, vaccines should be mandatory. I believe there is no harm in protecting your body from something that could potentially kill you. Most vaccines have little to no nasty side effects and are easily administered. I also think vaccines are a great way to jumpstart the immune system and aid compromised immune systems.
