In America there are many horrible mistakes made in courts, one of them happens to be the case of The Scottsboro boys. In their case they face judgement, unfair treatment, and an unfair sentence. Many author wrote books about them or close to their story, Harper Lee who wrote To Kill a Mockingbird had a similar case. In the novel Tom Robison is accuse of rape and sentence to life imprisonment. The trails of Scottsboro Boys and To Kill a Mockingbird had characters that displayed similarities. Also, both cases were affected by racism. On March 24, 1931 the alleged victims; Ruby Bates age 17 and Victoria Price age 21, accuse nine black boys for rapping them an event that occurred on a train to Chattanooga from Huntsville and had to check on the truth of her story. …show more content…
They all face the same death penalty. It was their word against white women. Mayella, Victoria, and Ruby are all names to remember. Ruby Bates was found as a weak witness, but Victoria Price just like Mayella Violet Ewell they both seem to know what they were talking about till they couldn’t lie any more. In both cases the girls told their side of the story. Victoria accused six Negros rape her and six raped Ruby, She said they were holding here down as they each got their turn.
