Within the passage, “Sojourner Truth” the author makes a claim stating that Sojourner Truth, “accomplished amazing things.” The author is able to prove this by providing supporting details throughout the passage. The author goes into detail about Truth’s childhood and all the hardships she endured during her early years. Even though she faced all that hardship she still managed to go on and have astonishing accomplishments later in life. The first of Truths many accomplishments came in 1827 at age 36 when she escaped slavery (Paragraph 3). The reason why this was such a big accomplishment is because during that period of time escaping slavery was dangerous and unpredictable.
