One stereotype I found a stereotype for men in the Odyssey is that men should always defend their reputation and objects and be willing to use physical aggression to do so. I saw this pop up in book 9 “I stormed that place and killed the men that fought, plunder we took and enslaved the women to make division and equal shares to all.” (line 152). This quote shows how men in the Odyssey use physical aggression to get what they want, even going to the length of killing and enslaving. Also in this quote, they describe the women as objects saying they divided the shares up almost like money or treasure.
