Stereotypical Sorority Girl

Sorority girls are often misinterpreted on their intention of actions. Most girls that involve themselves with a Greek organization do so to not only better themselves, but to also better their campus as a whole. Greeks are benevolent givers towards their current or former organizations and schooling. Different people have different ways of living their lives, but unless a person is part of an organization they usually are not branded with a title or assumption. Greek participants at ULM offer more than the self-promoting, unconcerned, partygoer that peers may view them as.
The stereotypical sorority girl is often portrayed as the tall, stick thin, bright blue eyed, dumb blonde that everyone wants to be or be around. Gabriella Roy, a Pre-Nursing major from Alexandria, Louisiana, and Hope Herbert, a Biology major from Lake Charles, Louisiana, both shatter the typical stereotypes placed upon Greeks. Gabriella and Hope are both quiet, short, brown eyed, and both have brown hair and a high GPA. These functions of course include drinking and stupidity at least in the slightest. Some individuals take the freedom of college to literally at some of the events, but most contain themselves. Greeks offer more than the parties or functions they throw for fun. Most functions that are held by a Greek organization are to raise funds for their philanthropy or for a good cause such as at need children. Hope states, “With AOII I am a part of so many different helpful events and put in so many hours of community service. I really feel like I can make a difference with all the things I’m offered in sorority life”. Sorority girls donate their down time to helping young children, lost animals, elderlies, and so many other types of charitable
