These days the billboards and internet is overflowing with more and more information of some kind. Time of literature is scooted aside by the new technology, shows and flamboyant visual entertainments. However, what most people don’t see is that reading plays a very crucial role in your life and it is a skill that should be practiced by anyone who wants to succeed in today’s society. It is how we gain new knowledge and information; it is vital in developing a good self-image and also develops the mind and develops the imagination. First of all, reading expands your knowledge. Without you even consciously aware of it! Reading can give you a lot of knowledge and information and how to distinguish between the two. Your language art skills such as vocabulary, spelling and etc, will improve rapidly. It will improve your decisions making and important choices effortless, and teach you many lessons necessary in real life. For example, I once had great difficulties with language art. But when I started reading, I easily recovered from those obstacles and it have helped me so much that I am very sure it would help others too. Therefore, if it weren’t for all the literatures I read, I wouldn’t be who I am right now. A good reader can educate themselves in any aspect of life. However, some people think that reading doesn’t help you very much in education. They believe that they can be educated plenty enough from the TV, YouTube, Google, and etc. without help of the literature. Although modern day internet does seem to be very resourceful, this is an untrue fact. Everyone knows from their own experience that TV, YouTube are very distracting resource for education and that it is very addicting. Also, from ESL, the educational researchers have found that there is a strong connection between reading and academic success. In other words, a student who is a good reader is more likely to do well in school and pass exams than a student who is a weak reader.They found out that good readers can comprehend ideas, follow arguments, and detect implications. They know most of the words in the text already, but they can also determine the meaning of many of the unfamiliar words from the context. Next, some nonreaders or poor readers often have low opinions of themselves and their abilities but it can really be solved simply by reading.When someone is troubled with their relationships with other people, they should try reading. Reading fiction actually increases people's emotional intelligence; their accurate awareness of themselves and others, and their ability to create positive relationships with others based
