The Syrian refugee crises began March of 2011, in the Syrian city of Deraa. Syrian civilians started protesting the arrest of 15 school children, who were reportedly tortured for writing antigovernment graffiti on a wall. At first the Syrian civilians started a peaceful protest for the release of the children and for more freedom for the people of their country. The Syrian Arab Republic Government (SARG) did not take the protesting very well. On March 18, 2011 the SARG lashed back by opening fire on the protesters that were going against the SARG Army; which resulted in four people getting killed (BBC news).
