“Beauty is only skin deep.” Newer Generations have focused on sunkissed skin and a beautiful glow. From tanning beds to outdoor rays, people are fixated on their appearance to realize the harm done. A bronzed tan radiates beauty, but it can leave lasting effects on one’s health. Tanning has quite the history. In the 20th century, tanning became a fairly new trend. In the early 20th century, people were extremely cautious around the sun to maintain their pale appearance. A pale appearance means wealth, beauty, and refinement (Clark et al., 2009). Once the American Industrial Revolution working class was driven to indoor factories, the tanning stereotype was no longer a sign of poverty. Excessive bronzers were highly popular in 2023 for their heavy vacationing tan appearance, but 2024’s predicted trend is all about a subtle sunkissed glow. Tinted sunscreen is also gaining fame for its muted radiance with fair coverage (eCosmetics, n.d.). From creamy bronzers to powders, there is a wide range of products on the market. According to InStyle, the greatest overall bronzer is Benefits Hoola Bronzer for its natural finish and dependability throughout the day. The cream bronzer voted best was the Saie Beauty Cream-Balm Bronzer (Norris, 2023). Saie Beauty is part of Sephora's clean and planet-friendly club, which favors sustainable packaging, environmental loyalty, and safe ingredients (Sephora USA, n.d.). Since packaging has become a waste issue, bronzer sticks have a new importance: Rare Beauty’s bronzer stick was famed for its amazing application (Norris, 2023).
