Athletes, whether they are young or old, professional or amateur, are always looking to gain an advantage over their opponents to come away with the win. The desire for an "edge" exists in all sports, at all levels of play, from peewee wrestling to professional football. Successful athletes rely on skill, practice, and hard work to increase their skills, speed, power, and ability. Today, high school and even middle school students are using steroids illegally. This is why teenagers are strongly advised not to use steroids.
Steroids can also affect the hormonal system in both female and males. Women using steroids may see reduced breast and body fat. They can also take on more masculine quality such as; deepening of their voice, and growing more body hair. Also they may have an enlarged clitoris and sometimes have baldness problems.
