Well, I have to admit I have a lot of respect for Dr. Paino for caring about racial issues, but what should I tell him exactly? Truman is a predominantly white institution (nearly 80%) and I get I can harp to him about the need to increase the minority population on campus, but is that really going to fix the problem ON campus? In my opinion (and feel free to offer your comments) no. Minorities aren't flocking to Truman because it is in the middle of nowhere and not diverse. Those factors can be vital for some students when making a selection about where to attend school.
