The Inca Empire, or Inka Empire Quechua Tawantinsuyu, was the largest empire in pre-Columbian America. The administrative, political and military center of the empire was located in Cusco in modern-day Peru. The Inca civilization arose from the highlands of Peru sometime in the early 13th century.
The Inca civilization existed in the time period of 1438 AD – 1533 AD. The Inca civilization also existed in the countries of South America, centered on the Andean Mountain ranges, including besides Peru large parts of modern Ecuador, Western South Central Bolivia.

Pachamama was the goddess of the Earth or “Mother Earth.” She was responsible for farming and the harvesting. Inti was their most important of gods to the Inca. He was the god of the sun and the Patron of the empire and conquest. His home of plenty was also the destination in the next life for those who lived good lives in this one. The emperor, or Inca Sapa, was said to be a descendent of Inti. Inti was married to the goddess of the moon, Mama Quilla.
The government and power was held at Cuzco, the Inca capital, which was considered the navel of the world. Eventually 40,000 Incas would govern some 10 million subjects speaking over 30 different languages. Inca government, employing a vast network of administrators, governed over a patched work empire which, in practice, touched local populations to varying degrees.
Quechua was the language of the Inca empire. which was destroyed by the spanish in the 16th century. The Inca used a system of knotted strings known as Quipu to send messages around their empire.
The Spanish explorer Francisco Pizarro invaded the Inca empire in 1532, seeking riches. The Inca had already had some contact with Europeans, and many had died of the European diseases. The empire was also weakened by a civil war between two ruling
