Stephen Chbosky’s, “The Perks Of Being A Wallflower”, tells a story of a smart, yet confused boy named Charlie. In the beginning, Charlie explains how difficult it was to lose his best friend, Michael, to suicide. Charlie walking into high school alone will be a challenge for Charlie, for which he will soon find. His relationships’ with all of his friends all have importance in Charlie’s life, rather in theirs. In the novel, Charlie will soon understand his relationships’ with them and the importance of it.

In The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, Brad has a hard time dealing with his sexuality, when he is in a not-so-secret relationship with Charlie’s friend, Patrick. Brad will lead to drugs and alcohol, in order to hide his sexuality for himself.
