Is current immigration policy seriously treated as a national security issue? The current policy on immigration is treated as a national security issue. This government has no idea who or how many immigrants are in this country or crossing the border everyday, it is only an estimate. One reason why this is a national security issue is without record the law enforcement officials have no idea what kind of criminals are trying to enter this country and not to mention the ones already here. This presents a perfect opportunity and avenue for terrorists to strike. Also with the drug wars currently going on in Mexico’s Northern states, it is a very dangerous place, not for the Customs and Border Patrol but the citizens that just so happen to be …show more content…
