This paper will discuss when police officers are legally allowed to use their weapons and also how it can be considered to be police brutality. Police officers are allowed to carry weapons solely on the purpose to protect the public’s safety; however, there are limitations to when they are allowed to use deadly force. Each state has its own protocol to regards of how and when police officers can legitimately use their weapon. Police officers are allowed to use their weapon when the officers or a citizen is in imminent danger, when a suspect is fleeing, and of course to let of a warning shot.
