A standardized test is a test that requires all students, in the same grade or age group, to answer a selection of similar questions. Many schools require their kids to take standardized tests to see where they will be placed. Is this an okay way to approach the idea of education? Even though standardized testing has been around for a very long time, should the average result of these tests judge whether or not a school stays open or not? Should a test that may not support someone's strengths but rather their weaknesses determine a school's existence? Schools should not close due to bad scores on standardized tests because students won't get opportunities to build a successful future, crime rates may increase, and the students won't be able …show more content…
If these people don't get a job they won't have any money and may end up homeless. If they had a degree or an education they maybe could have stopped this but since their school closed down because of bad test scores these opportunities were taken away from them. Also the people who don’t have a job may go to the extent of even committing suicide because they believe there is nothing important left in their life. The thought of this is horrible and people doing this because they weren't given the correct education is wrong. If this rule is put into tact than this occurring could become a reality.
The people that want to shut down schools due to bad test scores are only thinking about the money. They believe that if the school doesn't do good or even pass these tests the money being spent on that school can go to somewhere else. They believe that the students struggling aren't worth the money and the money should go to a better school thinking that they will put the money in better use. This cannot be right because you are just giving up on all the kids at the other schools and putting focus onto kids that are already doing okay in their classes and
