The Red Scare was one of the factors that led to the conservative reaction in American politics after World War I. Other factors included labor strikes, race riots, and immigration backlash. In the course book, on page 736, it mentions that when the soldiers returned home, unemployment soared and inflation went sky-high. I did some research and found an article titled, “Red Scare”, written by History.com Staff. In this article, it mentions how this era of fear was in part due to the over-analyzing of federal employees to determine their loyalty and investigations into the Hollywood film industry and our own government.
